Rain washes away drainage in Edo two weeks after construction
A heavy downpour of rain has washed away the newly constructed side drains for the ongoing Amuefi-Okpagha road linking Ikpoba-Okha and Uhunmwode local government areas of Edo State.
The Amuefi-Okpagha road, which is among the many road projects Governor Godwin Obaseki planned to complete before the end of his tenure, was kicked off in 2022.
Viral video by residents in the area showed a large part of the new drainage collapsed
Netizens have called out Edo State Commissioner for Roads and Bridges,
Hello Ethan Uzamere, for poor supervision of the road.
They have called for investigation into the project.
Commissioner Uzamere could not be reached for comments.
