Plumber makes First Class in Petroleum Engineering
A 23-year old plumber, Gabriel Nwachukwu Eze, has bagged the First Class honours in Petroleum Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).
Eze was celebrated by his Okposi community because of the odds he defied to achieve academic excellence.
He reported lost his father but was determined to succeed by enrolling as an apprentice to a plumber while in Senior Secondary School.
Eze was said to have made five distinctions in the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) and got admitted to FUTO.
Eze founded the Ductspwn Enterprise while still an undergraduate after he completed his apprenticeship.
His dedication to plumbing jobs even as an undergraduate did not deter his quest to study.
He was a recipient of the prestigious PTDF Undergraduate Scholarship Award, the Agbami Medical and Engineering Professionals’ Scholarship Award, the NNPC/NAOC/OANDA JV Tertiary Scholarship Award, among others.
Tagged the “starboy”, Eze has won the admiration of his community and referred to as a role model for many undergraduates.
