
Ondo TUC Scribe emerges FGC’s alumni President
General Secretary of the Ondo State chapter of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Dr. Gideon Bakare, has been elected President of the Alumni Association of the Federal Government College, Idoani, Ose Local Government Area.
Other elected officials were Hon. Oladeji Ebisemiju, Engr Adedoyin Agbede, James Samuel, Kehinde Folasade Awoseye, and Olajumuke Ibidapo.
Speaking after inauguration of the new executive, Dr. Bakare urged all members to be more active in the activities of the body and responsibility to the school.
Bakare stated that welfare of members was as important as development of the alma mater.
He said successes could only be achieved with collective efforts even, as he thanked Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa for creating an enabling environment in the state through which Alumni Associations could give back to their alma-mata
Bakare charged old students to come together to develop their schools saying government alone could fund the education sector in the country.
The TUC Scribe also called on private individuals and philanthropists to assist the state government to funding education in the country.
Bakare said education remained the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering indigent children to build a brighter future.
