Ondo PDP gets Caretaker Committee
A new Caretaker Committee headed by Hon Bakkita Olofowobi Bello has been inaugurated for the Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party.
This followed the expiration of the tenure of the elected executive led by late Fatai Adams.
The party’s National Vice Chairman, Southwest, Engr. Kamoru Ajisafe, who inaugurated the Committee urged them to work towards victory at the polls.
Engr. Kamoru expressed optimism that the party would emerged victorious in the November 16th governorship election.
Kamoru said majority of Ondo electorates would vote for the PDP.
He urged Ondo PDP members not to be wary of defectors leaving the party.
Dr. Eddy Olafeso said the November polls would be fought as they were taught by late Dr Olusegun Agagu.
He bidded the defectors goodbye but not farewell.
Candidate of the party, Hon Alfred Ajayi, declared that “Men are not God” as rumours were rifed that former Governor Olusegun Mimiko and his supporters planned to leave the party.
Hon Ajayi said he was not deterred by the defection of the PDP chieftains.
He said more members of the ruling All Progressives Congress have defected to the opposition PDP.
“It’s a normal thing. More and more are coming in. You will agree with me that since 2009 this is the first time you will see exodus of people from ruling party decamping to PDP everyday.
” Last two weeks we were in Ikare, six APC women leader decamp to PDP. Yesterday I was at Ese-Odo, at a matter of fact there is no APC there anymore. So if anybody is leaving, they are just trying to exercise their right, but I can assure you, no man is God and I can tell you anybody that must have left, we will take their responsibility from where the incumbent governor must have stopped.”
