Obaseki gives free health insurance to 10,000 LG pensioners
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has extended free health insurance cover to 10,000 senior citizens who retired from the local government councils.
Governor Obaseki also enrolled 5000 operatives of the Edo State Security Network into the State Health Insurance Scheme
Director of ICT, Edo Health Insurance Commission, Mr. Efemwenkiekie Nosa Nesta, said the directive of Governor Obaseki was to ensure inclusion and wider spread of the programme.
According to him, “The exercise will capture over 5000 vigilantes and over 10,000 Local Government pensioners across the 18 Local Government Areas in the State.
“The enrollment will capture operatives of the Edo State Security Network, the Local Government pensioners and the State Government pensioners that were unable to register during the last exercise.
“You can recall that late last year, the Edo State pensioners were captured into the system. He has extended the goodwill to Edo State Security Network members and the Local Government pensioners. We will capture them into our system so that they can start receiving care under the scheme.”
