How Ex-council boss, others were killed in Osun clash
Seven persons have killed in Osun State in a violent clash between supporters of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party.
Many others were injured in the clashes that occurred in several local councils in an attempt by former elected Chairmen to enforce an Appeal Court judgment.
Among those killed was a former Chairmn of Orewole local government, Aderemi Abbas.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, had raised the alarm of plot for former Governor Gboyega Oyetola to forcefully enforced the judgment.
Clash occurred at Ikire when late Abbas and his men made moves to enter the local government secretariat.
Supporters of the PDP reportedly blocked the entrance and it led to a free for all. Abbas was shot dead whike others had severe injuries.
At Iragbiji, two person were killed while violence clashes occurrd in other parts of the state.
Loyalists of the APC stayed away from some local councils in the state when they sighted PDP loyalists at the entrances.
To prevent further loss of lives, the Nigeria Police Chief, Kayode Egbetokun, deployed tactical teams to Osun State.
