Edo 2024: Group raises millions to buy nomination form for Omosede
A socio-political group, De Newest Political League, said it has raised millions of naira to purchase the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship form for Barr. Omosede Igbinedion.
Barr. Omosede is a leading contender for the Edo governorship race.
The group said it decided to support Barr. Omosede because she has remained youth-friendly and a focused leader capable of securing victory for the PDP.
Speaking at a press briefing in Benin City, the league’s spokesperson, Jeffery Aigbokha, stated that beside the fund set aside to purchase the governorship form, they have fund to support her campaigns ahead of the polls.
Aigbokha said they would storm Abuja in the coming days to purchase the form. According to him, “Hon. Omosede’s possess the qualities and abilities to lead our party on the path of victory. “She has the potential to address the needs of Edo people. The league particularly appreciates her commitment to youth and women empowerment, as well as her readiness to engage neglected elders and leaders.” On his part, Hon. Osadiaye Eseosa, the Personal Assistant to Hon. Omosede, thanked for the league’s support. He assured the team that their goodwill would be conveyed to Hon. Omosede, saying their collaborative effort would bring about positive change in Edo state. “As the political landscape gears up for Edo 2024, “De Newest Political League” sends a clear message to PDP leaders: it’s time for youth and women to take the lead, and Hon. Omosede Igbinedion is positioned as the torchbearer for this transformative narrative.”
